Pi Wen believes that effective employee surveys don’t have to be long or boring. In fact, she’s certain of it. She has more than 15 years of experience in talent management consulting and is passionate about design thinking and clear and people-friendly communication. She integrates right- and left-brain approaches to help her clients energize their employees.

Pi Wen is a proven expert in employee survey design, employee engagement, and meeting facilitation. Her clients have included Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit organizations, and Bay Area businesses.

She founded Novacrea Research Consulting in 2008 after moving from Chicago. At Novacrea, she consults with clients to improve their business processes, employee development planning, and employee engagement.

Prior to starting Novacrea, Pi Wen worked for Hewitt Associates (now Aon Hewitt) as a listening consultant. In this role, she led and managed employee engagement survey projects, interviewed executives, and moderated employee focus groups for Fortune 500 companies.

She then moved to Hewitt’s Research practice where she led their global Best Employers study. Pi Wen collaborated with project managers in Asia Pacific, Europe, India, Latin America, and North America to facilitate learning and ensure clear communications. She also provided statistical analysis help to associates in India. Her experience working with employees worldwide honed her facilitation skills and deepened her understanding of the nuances of communication styles across cultures—skills essential to today’s multicultural business environment.

Pi Wen received her Ph.D. and master’s degrees in applied quantitative psychology from Ohio University and her B.S. in mathematics from the National University of Singapore. She’s a member of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and a Board Member of the ASTD Golden Gate Chapter. She has presented at conferences and published articles in international trade magazines. In her free time, Pi Wen enjoys taking photos of people and abstract forms, and practicing yoga to calm her active mind.
